The International Literature Festival of Timişoara “West to East/East to West” (FILTM) is the 1 st international literary festival from Romania that it’s taking place outside of Bucharest, being a clear example of cultural decentralisation. Its main goals are forming a reading audience, improving citizens’ access to cultural activities through public readings and debates with the authors, the development of international cultural cooperation and promoting the local and national cultural values within the international course. FILTM aims to go on with the tradition of comparative studies, that have been initiated by “The Third Europe” Foundation, and redefine the identity of Timișoara city within the literary realm of Romania and Europe.
