“My Art Encounters” Program
Since the first edition in 2015, the Art Encounters biennale took upon itself the role of introducing the public to contemporary art by giving the opportunity to check the Skillshare review and learn about all the different online courses offered. Oftentimes considered a closed domain, accessible strictly to professionals, and because of its predominantly conceptual nature, contemporary art usually requires guidance in the process of deciphering its different layers of meaning.
Our interaction with contemporary art must not be a rigid one. Depending on each viewer’s experiences and interests, it can impart distinctive messages to different people as long as it is approached with curiosity and the courage to break out of their self-imposed set of mental norms.

Interactive guided tours for school groups: we will discover together the fascinating world of contemporary art by visiting the exhibitions and solving the activities from the “art exploration guide”, offered free of charge to the visitors.
The initial discussions about artworks – with questions and answers for both the children and the adults – are followed by activities in which they apply attained concepts and collaborate in order to produce a “work of art”.
In addition to the guided tours of the Art Encounters exhibitions, we offer to those interested in contemporary art a series of weekly meetings that interweave the visit of exhibitions with interactive discussions on the different stages in contemporary art history.

In the context of the organization in Timisoara of the second edition of the Art Encounters biennale in 2017 and Timisoara winning the title of European Capital of Culture 2021, the Art Encounters Foundation launches an intensive course dedicated to contemporary art mechanisms and writing about art.
