Lateral ArtSpace—independent platform for contemporary art—is an exhibition and project space based at the Paintbrush Factory in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. It was initiated in April 2012, as a place for experimentation and free artistic expression. With an almost stubborn predominance of young artists, the exhibition program is continuously diversifying while constructing a new network of institutions and artists from different countries.
The way we view the world is constantly changing, with many of us living in a “technology-sedating, consumption-engorging, instant-gratifying bubble”. Information nowadays needs to be #digestible #visuallyengaging #provocative and most of all #amusing. Will what we love ruin us? And if it doesn’t kill us, will it make us stronger?
